Whether she is alive, passed on, your best friend or the reason you padlock your doors, we all have a mom.
What a crappy month to start a new business! The sudden ban on group gatherings, sheltering in place and the whole shifting of the economy and workforce was a series of hurdles I did not anticipate needing to jump over. I did choose to postpone some of my initial workshops, due to both the mandate and my need to think about how to best readjust my launch plan. I am not sure how well-received a virtual workshop will be, but if it goes well, I will offer more workshops on other topics this way until I can resume in-person meetings. I am also in the process of developing workbooks and other materials that will hopefully be ready for purchase soon.
"A Letter To My Mother"
Our relationship with our mother is one of the most complex interactions we can experience. Whether she is involved in your life, estranged, super mom or an infrequent visitor, we all have ever changing thoughts that buzz in our heads. You will be guided through prompts that allow you to develop an honest, multi-faceted portrait of your mother. By giving ourselves time and permission not to swat away our perhaps confusing or conflicting emotions, we honor our thoughts and invite a sense of ease and calm.
In the end, you will have a piece of writing that you can tear up and toss, keep in a journal or turn into a letter that you can give to your mother. You will be instructed on ways to turn your raw notes into a piece you feel comfortable and proud to share. A written letter makes a wonderful gift in time for Mother's Day.
Workshops are fun and relaxed guided exercises that allow you to organize your thoughts and channel them into your own kind of writing and reflection. No need to be a writer or professional meditator.
"A Letter to My Mother" will be available through two options. You may choose to join via private facebook group and have 10 day access to a video recording of the complete guided exercise, or book a live virtual consultation with your family for a personalized experience.
Facebook group recording available: Saturday, May 2nd - Sunday, May 10th
Private family or group bookings available beginning April 20th
There will be two pricing options for the facebook access session: standard and reduced. While I am a small business working to support my family through my craft, I also have compassion for this unique time we are all in. If you are able to pay full-price, thank you! If reduced price helps you through this phase, thank you! I believe in the great power of writing and am grateful to have anyone join alongside me.
Once you purchase your ticket, you will receive a confirmation code that will be your access password to a private facebook group with the live streamed session. The video will be posted from Friday, May 2 at 2pm to Sunday, May 10 at 5pm. Please take your own notes as you please but understand: all material is the property of Kayleen Spicer and may not be recorded, downloaded or shared with anyone who has not purchased a ticket.
